Richard F. (Dick) Scruggs is founder and Chairman of 2nd Chance Mississippi, a charitable foundation assisting young adults striving for work skills and high school equivalency diplomas. Mr. Scruggs’ Foundation works through Mississippi’s community colleges and early childhood learning centers to improve the economic prospects for young adults and their kids.

Zach Scruggs is the Executive Director of 2nd Chance MS. Zach works closely with Mississippi’s Community Colleges and various civic and charitable organizations throughout the State to provide support and remove barriers for deserving lower income adult students working to get their High School Diploma and/or an employable skill certification. Under Zach’s leadership, 2nd Chance MS. has provided direct support to over 2000 adult students, helping 847 adults obtain their High School Equivalency and 532 adults obtain an employable workforce credential. Zach and his wife Amy reside in Oxford, MS. They have 3 children: Jackson (21)- a junior at Ole Miss; Augusta (19)- a sophomore at Appalachian State University; and Ellie (19) – a Freshman at Oxford High School.

Sarah Rose Lomenick is the Program Director of 2nd Chance MS. Sarah Rose works closely with Mississippi’s Community Colleges and various civic and charitable organizations throughout the State to provide support for deserving lower income adults working to get their High School Diploma and/or an employable skills certification. Sarah Rose’s role also includes seeking out and writing grants for 2nd Chance MS. Sarah Rose and her husband Robert live in Oxford, Ms. They have 2 children, Hudson (7) and Mary Leonard (5), and are active members of Oxford University United Methodist Church.

Cassidy Grace Porter is the Marketing Director of 2nd Chance MS. Cassidy Grace works with our team to create and promote digital content and highlight our program’s successes. Along with managing the creative media content she implements the strategic plan for Party On The Green. She lives in Oxford, MS and is also the Manager at Core Fitness Oxford.
